Recertification based on ISO 9001

On June 9th, 2011 the process-oriented quality management went through recertification successfully according to ISO 9001 guidelines .
New address

We moved the office on October 16th 2010.
Our former office in Bitziusstrasse 40 has to give way to the residential area "Schönberg Ost".

- The PTV SWISS office is a the top level.
Green logistics
Approximately 14 percent of global CO2 emissions are caused by traffic. The consequences of the climate challenge are more stringent emissions standards, which pushed up the external costs of charged mileage and emissions trading.

Climate neutrality is crucial.
In order to have not only cost savings, but also real competitive advantages of climate protection, innovative enterprises offer "green" transport to their customers. In addition to fast or cheap transportation, they supplement their portfolio with environmentally-friendly transport. In order to provide you with climate-neutral and environmentally-friendly transport logistic services offer you a modern and easy solution - professional transport route planer which calculates a pollutant output per route.
It is important to mention, that the calculation has to be considered, in addition to which, the individual vehicle data must be taken into account (for example, a truck weighs 12 tons and has a Euro-4-motor –as well as the actual route mileage). Therefore, in internal-urban tours the consumption and emissions are intrinsically higher than in quiet tours on the highway. Route or tour planning solutions calculate these values for each route/tour automatically and assign the emission output in the program or print it out.
How can transport be neutral for climate? The CO2 pollution created by combustion of fossil fuels such as diesel is one of the main reasons of global warming and climate change. Once the CO2 emissions are calculated per one tour, this tour can be set as a „climate neutral” tour.
This means, that the environmental burden is compensated by the usage of a special kind of transport. In this context a crucial phrase is „CO2 compensation“. Therefore, climate protection projects will be supported and these projects shall ensure, that for every ton of CO2 emitted in Switzerland, another ton is saved elsewhere, for example, by building a hydropower station instead of a coal-fired power plant in Asia.
Though this method cannot neutralise CO2 emissions, it will ensure that less or no further CO2 will be produced. Therefore, in the global climate system, it does not matter where CO2 is emitted or saved.
The CO2 Calculator
Usage of a CO2 calculator has the following advantages:
- The driver receives a comprehensive overview of the pollutant emissions of his or her vehicle for each trip mileage.
- The awareness of environmentally-conscious transportation is strong. They can market themselves as “green” transport providers and differentiate themselves from the competitors.
- Logistics providers can accept orders from companies which have made eco-friendly transportation part of their strategy.
- Logistics providers can appeal to customers interested in carbon-neutral transport with reliable CO2 calculations and offsetting.
Climate protection pays off within a short period of time, if, on the one hand, unused resources can establish a tour planning solution, and, secondly, if the driver will be sent to a training course instead of sitting at home. Finally, however, it should be seriously considered which new customer groups could be gained by the means of climate-neutral transport.
Green Fine Particles Badges and Environmental Zones
Let us consider Germany and Holland as an example. Their environmental zones are aimed at the citizens who suffer from pollution because they live close to the streets or highways. Therefore, global environmental protection becomes a secondary issue. These districts are visible for the route planning controllers on the map. The software takes, for instance, into account German environmental zones depending from the fine particles badge even while planning the route.
Average Determination of Parking Areas According to Driving and Rest Periods
Due to our new function parking zones can be determined along the route, which fit into the time window of the calculated rest periods. The rest period areas are noted for each tour. Moreover, not only the rest period areas can be simply recognised along the highways, but also parking zones in industrial areas.
